[birney]

T'was the day before easter
in the year 05
I was watching the telly
all fed up and bored
Around popped by brother
to see lil ole me
a game in his hand
to load on to pc.
I installed and I patched
and I played via LAN
But after playing with bots
I grew bored with of that fun
I knew if I searched
there was still fun in the game yet
and it was than i discovered
a thing called the "net".
I found a small beach
where the battle raged abound
24/7 in the air and on ground.
I shot and I bombed
and naded..and died
and than came the day that made me feel sick,
I threw a nade to many
and up came a kick.
I found the moon website
to find out why
a admin would kick me
and make my sprite die.
"It was'nt us"
this I was told
"it was probally punkbuster"
but do stick around"
I read all the forums and liked what I saw
but something was missing
I wanted lots more
Come into teamspeak
and talk to us there
so i did join
and now I live there.
I met the comets, the usha's and lins,
and wanted to help
so applied for admin.
Its was my job now
to keep the beach clear
of bad gamemanship
that results in a kick
A year or so later
I was still here
the powers that be
made me a Snr.
I help run the server
from day to day
but love it most
when i get to play.
To run up the beach
and to shoot and to nade
or for people to knife me
and to fly into trees.
This place is a hobby
with pleasures galore
and as long as its here
I'll come back for more.

I remember when Birney first came. He always sniped from the same place and all the circle snipers couldn't be bothered to hit him because it was so hard to get him in that place. However, the yell Birney gave whenever one of us snuck down and knifed him was always worth it.

I already told Birney I loved his poem, but I thought it would be nice to say it here, too. I have to say birney does have his charm, and he is easy to become fond of

He still does that lol. On the odd occasion, when I know he is in game and sniping, I will make that extra effort to get him. Sometimes I will be nice and let him get a couple of kills first
