End time: night EST
Times not set in stone and will depend on currently playing map/round endings.
Once again the end of summer is creeping in. We have had a great summer for gaming... too damn hot to go outside.... too rainy when it was not too hot.
This brings us to the Omaha TDM old school Labor Day event! We will run Omaha TDM as we had run it when we first created MoonGamers.
This means 2700 tickets to end a round, scores over 255 often and lots of time to get your skills (or lack of) sharpened up.
We do this event often but some members and players forget that you can not tank camp during this game play mode. All axis tanks must be in FRONT of the outlet of the sidewalks coming from the bunkers. No hill hugging, no sitting back for easy kills and no pulling back to fire on infantry coming over hill unless they are attacking your tank.
Also you can not lay expacks at the tops of the ramps for easy kills. You can toss them down the face of the ramp however.
Here is the entire list of rules for this event and game mode.
TDM OMAHA ONLY Special Rules & Policies
Cheappacking:
This consists of laying expacks at the tops of the ramps for easy kills. Also lining the trenches is considered cheappacking. This is frowned upon and makes game play for others turn into a bad experience.
Equipment Whoring Rule:
Staying in equipment for a extended period of time. This means you either keep the equipment alive as an engy, or keep going back to the equipment spawn to get right back into equipment. Going back and forth between different types of equipment is still considered whoring. We have defined an "extended period of time" as approximatly 20 minutes or 25 points(this is a guideline not a hard set in stone number will depend on if others would like to use the equipment and ask you to let them). Please do not wait for other players to ask you to get out, most simply will not. This applies to all equipment, but does not include the APC.
Sniping from the Defgun:
When Axis has the middle flag, Axis players are prohibited from sniping from the defguns. It is no longer possible to tell if a player has messed with his/her video card settings or if a player is running a hack to enhance his/her view while sniping from that position. Therefore in the interest of running as fair of a game as possible, this activity not acceptable.
Defgun and Fletcher Whoring Policy
There is no set point limit for use of defgun and fletcher, however admins reserve the right to investigate and ask players to vacate and share. As with all equipment, it should not be abused.
Tank Camping Rule:
Tank camping is when Axis has the central flag and has a tank positioned where it cannot be seen from the beach, and guns down soldiers, enemy equipment, etc from a "safe" place.
Allowed zones: at top of ramps, on ramps, or on the beach.
Illegal zones: behind the cement pylons at top of long ramp, or behind a similar "zone" on the short ramp side. Also, hugging against the hill to keep from being seen is considered illegal, even if it is within the "allowed zone".
Variations:
It is ok to pull back for repairs, either to repair your own tank or to have it repaired. If you see an enemy coming for you or the tank while under repair, it is ok to jump in, fire on that enemy, then jump out to continue repair. It is NOT ok to stay back WAITING for repairs or AFTER repair in order to fire on the enemy; once repaired, please move back into position.
It is ok to pull back and NOT FIRE on the enemy if you are typing, etc.
It is ok to pull back and forth, especially if you are under fire; just make sure you are in the "allowed zone" for the majority of your time and that you do not fire on the enemy when pulled back unless they are moving toward your position (in other words, if you are back and they are taking the trenches DO NOT FIRE, you have chosen to leave the "defense" zone; if you are back and an enemy engy is approaching you, you may defend your piece of equipment).
It is ok to pull to the bunker to reammo.
If Allied has the central flag, camping rules DO NOT apply.
In the end HAVE FUN AND SEE YOU ON THE BEACH!!!
