A question of nades.

In recent months the question of 'nades' has come up a few times on the servers, but as I said they have been bought up many times before. However before we even consider doing anything about them, or not, as the case may be, we would like to get YOUR opinion on the issues of nades. Please feel free to complete the poll above and also add any comments/opinions you may have below.

A small change like this would have a map like Omaha play more like a 44 player map than a 64 player
map.

Nades should be kept. Always good to have them if some bastard is camping.
Hopefully it will make the game more playable

Also remember that reducing the reload time of grenades on its own doesn't prevent nade RAIN. Just nade-spamming

Stali and berlin however,are near unplayable with nades.everything else isnt too too bad. The main problem i see is a matter of mentality.some people see nades as THE weapon,everything else is secondary. I know i am terrible at this and have no right to say anything about anyone.
I throw nades in hopes of scaring my enemy off.it is rare kill anyone with one.

It's not possible to mode the nades to just spawn with 1. Two nades is the minimum you can spawn with.

Not quite. On maps like Stalingrad and Berlin, nade rain is often caused by nade spamming. This is also why I called for a 1-2 second increase in spawn times, so there aren't as many nades being thrown simultaneously. There's always an option, though.
I agree with Cream. Spawn time should be increased by 2 or 3 secs, there´s nothing more irritating than killing someone, for example in stalin, and that guy is already spawning knowing where u are, throws all his nades without even looking and only then uses his weapon, if by now the nades had no effect (death), and gets the kill and still feels he rules.
On the other side, though i absolutely hate nades im not in favour of reducing them, the game was done with 3 it should be like that.

Naturally, the most prevalent counter argument is that, "oh, then tanks will be overpowered." No, they won't. The bazooka and engineer kits were invented for a reason: use them.
To add to that, tanks are already often a death trap on 64 player TDM. It's not like 10v10 or something. The infantry numbers are overwhelming enough to compensate for reduced nades. (Especially with 2 second spawn time) Concerns about tanks would just make players more cautious to waste their nades on enemy infantry.
Not only that, admins looking for spammers aren't focusing their efforts on players tking or more important matters; they have to have their time sapped by a constant barrage of nades raining down on EVERY area of the map.
^^An important point, in my opinion.
Personally I think 2 nades, and a slower reload time, would be great. The spam would be seriously reduced, while players are still free to make good/fun use of grenades.
64 players changes and imbalances the game-play significantly enough to justify modding this.

Yet people have been modding this game since it came out, hence the creation of modding tools which specifically illustrate players and admins alike who are in favor of a bit of a change. Being the infantry fanatics we are, Lecter, I cannot see how you enjoy constantly being grenaded by people who otherwise couldn't earn the kill. I'm in favor of vanilla gameplay, too, but I can barely stand to play maps that aren't huge, because it just botches the game. Unless you're corner/window whoring on Berlin or hiding in general, there's always nade rain coming down on you; do you enjoy that? You don't think that, with 64 players constantly throwing nades, this mod would enhance the gameplay?

Like I said I absolutely hate nades but it does give me some kind of rush or thrill trying to dodge them
But i agree with u Cream it would enhance gameplay modding and im all in favour of that

would it be possible to reduce splash damage of nades vs infy?

Def Gun, Arty, Ship gun, Expack, and nades all share the same explosive factor in the coding. Changing one will change all of them. It was done before but created more problems than it fixed.would it be possible to reduce splash damage of nades vs infy?

On omaha I'd actually prefer 1 nade or no nades at all. On Berlin I'd think adjusting the reload time of nades would be enough.
I believe you are also able to remove nades from the ammo crates? that would be another beneficial tool to avoid removing nades completely

Just get rid of everything, maybe then the "old skool infantry pros" will finally be happy.
perhaps you should log on TS or be in the server a little more often. i think most people would agree with me when i say that players of all calibers complain about the nades.
