Long time since my last post, lol. This year Nvidia is going to release their 7x00 series of cards, and with all the talk about SLI and 512MB cards and CrossFire the prices should go down. If you have not bought your card yet you should wait a bit more.

OK, so i didn't want to start a new topic about cards since this was already here even though its a year old....

card i am checking out <-clicky

There were no reviews at newegg about this so i wanted to get your opinions...
The main thing that appeals to me about this is the 512 MB, any idea if this is worth the cost? and would this be better than a geforce 6800 256 MB? If its not much better im not going to waste my money on it....

Save your money a little longer and get a card in the $150-200 range. You will see an immeasurable performance increase.

My personal recommendation would be an AGP 6600GT for a little less than $200 if you can afford it.

If you can't, try to land a 9600XT or a 9500Pro, preferably the latter, as I'm pretty sure it has 8 pixel pipes.

9600Xt would be better, it's a later model and is an XT version of the card, which is the highest. I had it, and could manage most settings on medium and about 40fps. It's not the best card these days though.

That is a VERY good choice! It's a great card, and just below the top of the line. You will be able to get medium/high settings. Possibly mostly high, if you have the processer and ram, you really need at least 1.5-2gb of ram to play with textures on high, to support it.
