Kudos to your mom, she is teaching you the value of the dollar and responsibility. ! If you do go out and get a job then you will have a greater appreciation for whatever you buy with your paycheck. Money doesn't grow on trees.

Give your mom a high five for me, she is lookin out for ya like a mom-pixie should !

Will Mom let you do extra chores around the house to earn the money to buy one? It's a win-win thing...

My friend had simular issues with a 9600 he had for some time.

It had no issues before he bought bf2, and bf2 is the only game he had issues with.

He eneded up spending some money he had saved on a x800, so that doesnt really help....but everyone I know who has used a 9600 for battlefield 2 has had a issue of some sort.

Also, potential job ideas for a 14 year old

Lawn Mowing
at say, 15 a yard, and say, two yards (we will assume a average of three hours per yard) a week you could bring in about 30 a week for 6 hours work which comes out to about mininum wage, which means at 2 a week you could bring in a referbished x800 in about 8 weeks with a total of 40 hours worth of work.

Junior lifeguard? Possibly lifeguard if you turn 15 before the summer.
5.50-6.00 a hour starting, expect 20ish hours per week on average bimonthly pay

Chores

Work for parnets if they need you to.
