Steven Wilson, such a talent. It doesn't matter what project he's working on they're all solid. Porcupine Tree, No man, Blackfield, or his own solo career...all brilliant.

I'll see your Steven Wilson and raise you a Robert Pollard of "guided by voices" fame....

That's no raise. While Pollard has many songs to his claim he's no Steven Wilson. Like Pollard he is a singer song-writer as well as a producer, film maker, and writer. His work is more creative and diverse in my opinion. He is one of the most eclectic and prolific artists in music today. Besides, he sounds better and plays a wicked guitar.

I read this in a blog once, took me a while to search it again...

"To describe Steven Wilson in one word: ambitious. The man is a music making machine. Not in the toss-off Robert Pollard sense of overblown saturation, moreover in the intense man-on-a-life-mission model."

...I agree. Don't get me wrong I'm sure many feel Pollard is a musical genius in his own right. Comparatively speaking however Steven Wilson is far more talented...
