This was number 60 on the top 100 hits of 1969.
I remember it well, I was beginning my working career at Standard Oil.
I was 15 and pumping gas. Engine oil, grease I was in 7th heaven. I always been a grease monkey of sorts.
Plus, back then when you filled the tank, you also washed the windshields. Did I mention mini skirts were abundant too. Enjoy!!!!!!

This was number 20 on the top 100 hits of 1969 and was voted Top US Soul Record of 1969 selling over 1 million copies. This was a favorite of mine way back when and remains as an all time favorite with me. It was released April 25th 1969 a day after my birthday and 3 weeks into my Marine Corps boot camp training in San Diego. I actually did not hear this song until early June of that year when I was on my way up to Camp Pendleton for Infantry Training Regiment. In boot camp we had NO electronics just mail from home to connect us to the outside world......anyway....it was the Wolfman Jack show on XERB out on the West Coast ...http://www.wolfmanja...o.com/radioshow

The towards the end guitar on this Rolling Stone's song harkens me back to that late 60's Santana sound that was happening back then.

Great song. Funny how songs remind of days/times that have gone by.
Thanks Tarawa.
