i never said there wouldn't be any rules ... if yes, please show me where ?

we'll need an admin to restart the map, restart map in case of a crash, overlook general gameplay, answer player questions and enforce a couple of rules, such as :

- don't waste vehicle (like keeping axis tanks in axis main on market garden)

- no teamkilling / teamsabotage (even if unlikely in a competition match such as this)

- no nadespamming

- don't glitch (throw nades through walls, walk through walls, etc)

- no racism, no chat spam, no radio spam, etc.

- players must use [world] or [usa] tag

- no world players on team usa and vice versa

etc. etc. ......

How much experience do you have with competition playing x=x?

This is a match. The only thing needed is someone who can restart the maps, not necessarily an admin. The ones that are not crossed out would be the only thing any admins would enforce for this game. Some reasons admins wont enforce the rules that I have crossed out is because there will be some thought into moves being placed. The server will be pass worded so we wont have to worry about random players coming in and messing things up.

i disagree rapid fire ... this is not a clanmatch, many non-clanners are joining, and the ip and password will be posted in many forums .... one dedicated admin would be nice ... just in case ...


i wouldn't mind being an admin on that server that day .... but i severely doubt the moon bosses will let me do that .... rofl ... i'm probably the last guy in the world, they would hand over that duty to ....

Our admins will be 'players' not admins. As there will be no rules and as they are players they will not be admining. However you will still need a person or two to restart the maps for you when the match is ready to do ahead.

Please note peoples. We are more than willing to look the other way when it comes to admining, including language. However while we expect to see cussing and friendly slap-talk, any racist remarks/chat will be dealt with, after the fact!

2-3 hours of MG and i will have a brainwash... i was hoping aberdeen or something like that (bulge,tobruk)... but everyone hopes their own maps also ... ill wait and see

54 players are now on this list, so it may seem that there is only 10 slots left .... but that is not correct ....

many on the above list aren't 100 % sure that they will show up .... 25 slots left is more realistic ....

80 signups is probably what it will take to completely fill the server .... it will have 64 slots ...

if we limit signups to 64 players .... my estimate is that 40 - 35 or less players will actually play the full match ...



besides these "uncertain" signups, there are other factors that might prevent a lot of people from playing, even though they have signed up :

• many of the euro players haven't yet realized that their ping will be 130+ ... many of them are used to play at euro servers only ... and may be surprised / shocked when they find out that the server is in the usa, and their ping is much higher than usual ... some people might simply quit because of this ....
  
• some people might log off log if opposition gets too hard, baserape, etc ... not all the signed ups are elite players ...
  
• some people won't be able to find the server from the ip address alone, and therefore won't show up ...
  
• many of the above players have told me that they can't get punkbuster to work, and get kicked all the time on punkbuster enabled servers, others have simply uninstalled punkbuster for good. if we leave punkbuster on, at least 10 players won't play
  
• some of the signups use 1.6 instead of 1.61b and might not know how to patch ... i will have to track down all these people and ask them what version they use, if they know how to change with patch switcher, etc ..!
  
• some people will simply forget all about this match and won't show up
  
• some people might have changed their mind, and don’t want to participate after all
  
• some people will have connection problems
  
• other things I haven’t thought of ...
  
• etc.
  
• etc.
  
• etc.

this is why limiting sign ups to 64, almost certainly will result in 40 - 35 players or below instead of 64.

i suggest that about 80 sign ups should be the limit .... even with 80 signups, it's very unlikely that 60+ players actually show up and play the full match ...
