June 10th 1981 Sue and I crossed paths up in the northwoods of Minocqua Wi and have been traveling on the same one ever since. As couples do, we have had our share of favorite songs that we have made our own over the years and little did I know just how magical those songs would become. Alzheimers is slowly erasing her mind of all that once was and as I tried to communicate the day to her she seemed to barely even recognize me. So, I got the headphones out and with a slight struggle got her to keep them on and played our favorite together song. All I can say is this, her mind may be struggling, but her soul is still very much alive as her eye's lit up and I swear they filled with the memories of what that song meant. Music is an amazing way to engage the soul. Below is a live version of the song.
