Get it hosted and then when you edit your signature, 
needs to be typed first followed by the URL of the place in which your picture is hosted then at the and of the URL or adress, whatever the hell you wanna call it, you put 
. For example on the signature editing page of this particular forum...
The best place to get a simple image hosted that I am aware of is http://www.imageshack.us/

If you host it at imageshack they give the the EXACT code, it will be in the first box and looks like this:
