Today's Changes / Additions

 

Kursk CTF has been overhauled. There are many more jeeps (including at the two flags), more AA, and some extras.

 

Market Garden (CTF)

  • Reduced jeep spawn time

Kursk (CTF)

  • Jeeps at mains.
  • 2 Jeeps per mill flag.
  • Shorten spawn time for jeeps
  • Zook packs at each main + mills
  • Remove heavy tanks / replace Mill spawn with light tank
  • Switch fighters to 2-seater planes
  • AA in mains + mills
  • Remove artillery at east flag
  • Extra jeep+AA at each pond (east side of Allied pond, south side of Axis pond)

We had a great round today, with almost 30 players. Some adjustments needed like more Jeep spawns, faster Jeeps, but overall a great map with something for everyone, from pilots to snipers.

Vanilla BF1942

  • Turbo jeeps
  • Faster respawn (5-10 seconds) & multiple spawns for jeeps

Market Garden (CTF)

  • More jeep respawns

RTR/SW

 

Husky

  • Added AA guns at all flags
  • Restored 2nd beach AA
  • More and faster spawning jeeps

Anzio CTF

  • More and faster spawning jeeps
  • Add AA guns to main bases and airfields

Eagle's Nest

  • More and faster spawning jeeps / motorcycles
  • Replaced one of the Sturmtigers with PanzerIV
  • Axis tunnel reverted from uncap to a regular cappable base
  • Allied main reverted from uncap to a regular cappable base
  • Rotated one of the T95s so it faces the western road

I can just see the planes whipping off the edge of the deck as the aircraft carrier drifts around the island with initial D music and everything

Kursk CTF tonight was a one-sided nightmare. It ended being 15-2 for the axis. I was on allies and while I think it may have been partially due to unbalanced teams, I propose spreading out the equipment on both sides as it would all get demolished as soon as it spawned in. Spawn points also might need adjusting as the axis were repeatedly blasting us with tanks as soon as we spawned. As for points, could we put it down to a 10 point max? (this one is just a thought)

We will be moving the flags so they're not as close to the equipment. 

 

Good point on the spawn points - perhaps some more could be behind buildings or indoors (if not already?)

 

Will consider moving some of the equipment so they're not all bunched together.

 

15 points was an experiment I ran just for today. It's back to 10 now. Kursk (and sometimes Berlin) is the only map it ever goes that far anyway.

I have just finished playing Berlin and there were at least 18 people there enjoying it the map is so much better without the Tanks . the mods in all the maps are for the betterment of each map so far

 

Can the nades be taken out of Berlin as the Axis can throw nades directly from the road leading to the blue spawn and and then grab the flag , something blues cannot do in return.

 

Therefore Axis easily won the game because of this even some Axis players said it was one sided because of this ,can they be deleted or at least down graded to 1 nade each to help combat this always happening in the future?

 

Again great mods and with them it seems the population is now growing ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, thank you for great work Wasabi and who ever else who is or may be involved

Yes, now that the tanks are gone, I think reducing the amount of nades/exppacks on Berlin CTF is fair game now.

Is something still wrong with the zooks on Berlin CTF? I thought I had reset everything (and I mean EVERYTHING). They should be able to one-shot infantry now, or jeeps.

Today's Additions

 

Largely restoring the equipment on Guadalcanal to stock settings, except added jeeps everywhere + several defguns around the main bases.

Submarines can dive again. The little rubber boat on the submarines have been retained for now.

 

Guadalcanal (CQ):

  • Restored ability of submarine to dive (previously diving was disabled)
  • Restored the Sherman/Chi-Ha (one of them was previously modded to M10 / T-34)
  • Restored the previously removed 2nd Fletcher / Hatsuzuki destroyer for each team (previously removed).
  • Restored the tank spawns on the hills (previously modded to be artillery).
  • Restored the dive bomber for each team (previously removed)
  • Restored Black Metal jeep for Axis (previously modded to Kubelwagen)
  • Added strategically placed defguns to the main bases / airfield to protect against spawn killing by the ships
  • More and faster spawning jeeps at the flags and scattered around the map for smoother transportation.
  • Added AA to hill flags and village / back flag

Kursk (CTF):

  • More spread out equipment placement
  • Less clustered spawn points to combat camping/spawn killing

Berlin (CTF):

  • Jeeps respawn faster
  • No grenade reloads
  • ExpPacks are limited to 2 (they do reload)

I like submarines. They are cool. They can go fast and swim under the water. They are perfect for spearing battleships. They look super cool. I like submarines.

The only thing with Guadal is its size. I added tons of jeeps which should help. But I haven't run it yet. Looking for an opportunity to run it with ~20 players and see how it plays. 

 

I asked some players today whether we should run more Pacific maps, and the answer was a yes. The problem is that most of those are big maps, except perhaps Wake (which is already in rotation). If we can get Midway, Iwo Jima, and Guadalcanal to play well with 20 players, that would be really nice.

Guadalcanal played pretty well today with about 20 people give or take. That said, jeeps need to be turbo'ed to deal with the long distances and the planes were too dominant. 

 

Today's changes / additions:

 

Guadalcanal (CQ):

  • Turbo jeeps. The turbo amount is the same as in Market CTF / Kursk CTF
  • Removed the 2nd fighter plane. Map was too dominated by planes.
  • Slightly faster AA spawns, slightly slower plane spawns.

Battle of the Bulge (CQ):

  • Balancing change: Axis main base Tiger tank is now locked (Allied cannot steal it)

Iwo Jima (CQ):

  • Fast-spawning jeeps added around the map
  • Restored battleship
  • Added bots (6 per side for now as they can be glitchy)

Today's Changes:

 

Iwo Jima (CQ):

  • Restore allied-only beach flag (initially gray, unchangeable once Allies take it).
  • More AA at Airfield
  • Restored dive bomber for Axis.
  • Restored Allied Corsair
  • Airfield controlled by Allies only spawns fighter plane. Slightly faster plane spawn times for airfield (both Axis/Allied).
  • Spawn a Sherman tank/jeep when Allied capture the beach.
  • No bomb reloads

Guadalcanal (CQ):

  • Fix AA location at South Village
  • Slightly lower turbo on jeeps. Tanks beefier against collisions so jeeps on turbo shouldn't one-shot them most of the time.
