Hey if ur punkbuster is having a handshake failuredo the following steps:

1) go to my computer
2)dick c:
3)program files
4)EA GAMES
5)battlefield 1942
6)if you have a folder labeled pb.....delete it!!!! (no need to restart windows)
7) exit everything
8) goto http://www.pbbans.co...er-t112089.html
9) click download
10) when its all done KEEP THE CHECK MARK IN RUN PUNKBUSTER BOX then hit exit
11) hit in/re-install
12) then hit next
13) then run ALL test if ALL complete WITHOUT FAILURE hit exit (NO NEED TO RESTART WINDOWS)
14) IF THERE IS AN ERROR IN 1 TEST OR BOTH RESTART PROCESS
15) run Battlefield 1942 and have fun!

P.S. if you get kicked more than once i don't know what to do except restart whole process.

ok nvm i finished all the tests but when i went to play i didnt get a handshanke failure but a communication error kick. help frank??

I tested it and it appears to be a simple PB reinstall. It didn't solve the Handshake error for me and simply undid TankPanzer's Communication fix.

Ace Pilot, I recommend you use TankPanzer's fix. Using that and turning of Real Time Protection is still the only way I can play.
