What should a player do if they think there is a hacker.

1. What info can we gather for submission...

2. Should we message it to someone or post it in the forum.

Thanks...

You could go into teamspeak to find and tell an admin or you could PM a Snr admin for 1942. That's what I'd do.

In this specific area, much of procedure isn't discussed on the public forums.  However, the point is made.. we are receptive to all forms of communication.  (With the exception of the Shout Box)

Send a PM to any active Admin using these forums, or find one on teamspeak, you might even know one on xfire, skype or ventrillo.  They can get with you and discuss the specifics of your observation.

They will then Create a 'player to watch' thread in an unseen section of the forums.. or take necessary action.

I would think the PM method or TS for those that use it. I wouldn't want to call out someone and be wrong... Thanks for the info all...

It is best done by PM.. this way there is a paper trail of all details and specifics and nothing is public.  I would be glad to help out if you can't find anyone else.

Just a pm away!

It's actually not encouraged to be discussed ANYWHERE. Angry's thread proves there isn't much tolerance. It's almost like an accusation is dealt with more severely than actual hacks an cheats.

I realize that I have over accused and trust me I have lost sleep over it...specially when Lin chews my azz!  Very embarrassing!  But...I have also inquired directly to some players and THEY get OVERLY defensive about it...which usually is a sign of lying or cheating. I've noticed many players won't encourage or coach you...if they do it';s VERY generally, And if you say something wrong they go apesht.

I get it...some players and admin hate it. But have patience and tolerance. Error on the side caution and compassion.

I truly believe this server could use an admin that isn't a hotshot clique dude person. That could either explain or expose. Not sure ANY admin really has the patience or tolerance for it but they should.

Let me describe a scenario for you.   Your doing pretty good, getting lots of kills and your team is winning.  The match ends and you notice that your team won by 1'000 tickets!  Woo Hoo...

Not!   The server also lost people steadily and has less people on it due to inequality of teams.   Not your fault you we're just playing.   But maybe 3-4 ringers got together and decided to wreak havoc.  Well.. now your kind of in the middle of that because it's your team.

Hackusations are like this to some degree.  Those who would want to sour the server throw them and other negative chat around frivolously with intent.  I know how this sounds but believe me it happens.  So we have to have ways to curb it.   Quite often when John Doe 1 & 2 who have never been seen before start talking up their game..  often without scoring a single kill or death.   Others, join right in.   Did you not notice the this is John Doe 1 & 2 talking here with a big 0, 0 score?    The Admin did, it's what we are trained for and take time out for so you can just play.

Don't get caught up in it.

A good majority of hackusations come immediately after the reporting player was fragged.  He didn't think it was kosher and felt the need to take it to the chat screen that instant.   Don't!

Good players will also take time out to evaluate their opposition.  We listen when they speak and take every action we can to remedy the situation.
