Hi there.

Long time no see!

Sorry for being so inactive at server/forum... damn real life!

 

Sorry for asking this, but... is it possible to add server to BFtracks?

Now that xfire is down... and the alternatives are too damn boring, i join server with the help of BFtracks...

Searching people...

Searching servers...

Searching maps...

 

Is it possible to set it up? the last time that server was seen... was in 2013...

No sir.

 

Gametracker still allows you to register a server. You cannot search maps but you can search people or servers and it will show current map.

 

Of course patching your game will allow the in game server browser to do all of those things.

why its not possible to putt server at BFTracks? If it was in the past!

  Without being overly technical at the risk of being corrected by someone else that is more savvy..

 

  My educated guess is..

 

  They had used a static list queried from gamespy master server.  I manually sent such a query to the gamespy master server before it went down and received back the list of active servers and extra fields of information from each.  BFtracks would have used that query to find and list available servers.

 

  So, the reason you see some servers and not others is that those servers have not moved location or changed I.P. data since the gamespy shutdown. Bftracks can see only the last query it has had from the old gamespy master server and uses that information.

 

  X-fire, being installed on the client side probably checked available servers in a slightly different way.
