Hi comp gurus again. My comp temps are a touch high and I want to bring them down on the CPU side. What do you guys and gals suggest as a good heatsink/fan for a AMD Barton 3000+ (Asus A7N8X Deluxe mobo and an Asus V9900 video card)? I already have 3 case fans but they are not enough.

Thanks

Use it. Don't save it.

I have the same CPU running on an A7V8X mobo. I use a Thermaltake Volcano 11+ . I was having the same heat problems as you but the Volcano has eliminated them. It is a large and noisy heatsink...

The Thermite 11+ is a good heatsink/fan combo if you buy it retail. Also, when you apply the thermal goop to the bottom of the heatsink, make sure you just apply enough to cover the surfacce very lightly. The goop draws heat better then without it, usually there is an included pad that when you place it between the heatsink/processor it will melt and place just the right amount. If your heatsink/fan combo doesnt include any, they you will have to buy a small tube for about 5-10 dollars depending on the quality and size of the tube. Make sure its the small once because you only have to put a quarter sizerd amount on. If you place too much it will insolate the processer fromt he heatsink/fan and create more of a heat problem. Believe me, its not that hard to do, if I can do it, im sure you can.

you know it is expensive when they dont even list the price on the front page. What does that thing cost? More than the CPU its cooling? :o

they don't have a price because they don't sell it directly to customers.

then move the fan facing the highest heat emitting element

where might that be??

Installed the Areo 7 Lite cpu cooler today, I have the fan speed cranked with the provided gain knob which is located on a pci bracket at the rear of the computer.

Cost was $25.00 CAN

You run a camera shop or something? Oh, nice warning label on the fan. Don't stick your finger in there!
