With great deal of valued input on selection and testing,

A grouping of maps has been gathered at a target size for this type of -ease of use- distribution file. The grouping represents the prior Moongamers Map Packs with a few maps retired and more then a few new additions.

The download is an executable file which simply places the stand alone BF1942 maps into their proper destination for the user

The default target path is derived from the registry.  All CD users XP, Win 10 will simply press start/next/exit.  Origin, D-Drive or other installations are able to browse to or type/paste the desired path.

 Most common example  C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games\Battlefield 1942

  • 450 megabyte download
  • Skips previously installed content

Link modified so all users can download with no google account needed.

It is as simple as applying the gamespy patch and easier then setting up most mods would be.

Tested XP, 7,8,10 CD , Origin, Other

Press Start - It's ready to go and won't display an incorrect path

Hey there!

I walked thru these maps with Posi yesterday....and had some flashbacks.

Some of them were in Battlegroup when I used to play that.

While free-caming over those maps I was really itching to be able to populate and play them!!

Perhaps some of them could be inserted into the Sunday RTR SW maplist.

In a perfect world, we'd have a server for other mods.  A lot of us play EOD and stuff...I'd rather do it on Moongamers!

Anyway see you out there and happy Killing!!!

It has been added to the scrolling text on the server and should make it easy to tell other players about it.

Commonly asked questions...

  • Will these maps be on a Moongamers server soon?
  • I hope so.
  • I ran the program and it says installing to  C:\Program Files (x86)\EA GAMES\Battlefield 1942, should I just hit start?
  • Yes, you should probably just do that.
  • My Battlefield 1942 is installed somewhere other then default.  Where do these maps go?
  • Point the program to the to the main ...\Battlefield 1942 directory of your choice using the button marked with 3 dots.
  • Example: C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games\Battlefield 1942
  • I don't see a default target directory listed?
  • Origin and custom installations will not see a target directory, You must set it. See example above.
  • Does this program change my registry?
  • No
  • I installed.  How do I locate these maps in windows explorer?
  • C:\Program Files (x86)\EA GAMES\Battlefield 1942\Mods\bf1942\Archives\bf1942\levels
  • or similar would be the full path name to view or delete the files.
  • I have CD and Origin versions of BF1942 can I install to both?
  • Not at the same time.

So do we and with that being said, what do we need to do as a community to get this done? :smiley_369:

First thing that comes to mind is maybe splitting a Sunday up. :hearts:

12 hours of this map pack - 12 hours of RTR and SW ? :laughmad:

Just for a test run?  :weird:

After that you can weed out or vote whatever moongamer thinks is appropriate. I'm up for it!

Spread the word on the server.  We need players to download the maps before we can really start running them.

Wow this brings back memories, hope we can get them mainstream! Been busy cutting into the roof of my house to install a new addition, trusses etc, but once I shingle it and take a break, I can't wait to come back and play these again.

Hope to see you guys soon, sorry for my absence.

Great maps, but will they ever be played on the main server?

When they do, that'll be the death knell of the main server. The public is fickle.
