I decided this week that my PC is outdated and decided to splurge on some new hardware (*shameless plug) from Dante IT.

-AMD x2 4800+
-Asus A8N32-SLI Deluxe (True dual 16x sli support)
-(2) MSI nf4 256 bit SLI 7800 GT graphics cards.
-(2) 1 gig Corsair pc 3200 ram chips.
-1 650 watt power supply.

I can't wait to see CoD2 on it with all the shit turned up high.

Nice rig. Let me know if you run into any issues with the X2 and if you come up with the fixes. I have the 4400 and some games do not work well with it. Its that whole set affinity thing.

Details! You mean multi-threaded games choke? I hope not. That'd get me a little upset.

The main thing I wanted was the sli setup. After reading a ton about it I realized this x800 (while good) isn't going to run the next gen stuff coming out.

Example (Gears of War):

I wish my games looked as good as those pics...

No issues here - I am running the 4800x2 and will be soon running the 5000x2 - I have had no issues whatsoever running games - doom 3, COD2, BF2, quake 4 no issues! What issues have you had and with what games?

Or just do a google search on X2 stutter, X2 jerkiness, X2 affinity, etc.. You can also read lots about it on AMD's forums, but, according to their tech support it is a Windows and/or application problem. They told me to use the "set affinity" method or use the programs that do it for you.

Hmmm.....I will look into it as well. I said at the beginning of the year I wanted a dual core by winter and here I am.

BTW, I am now an AMD connoisseur. Intel is too hot, too pricy, and too slow.
