I would rather watch the worst episode of Lost in Space any day rather than The Simpsons :)

I'm not sure how you would choose the worst episode of LIS.  They are all tied for worst.

For it's time, it was a fun show to watch. Johnathan Harris' Doctor Smith was a hoot. The Simpsons is funny. But not good enough to hold me for an entire episode.

I understand the campiness, heck I used to be glued to the tv set when reruns of Batman came on.  In hindsight and with a much older eye, the relationship between Dr. Smith and Will kinda haunts me.

Just looked it up.  There were 83 episodes in just 3 seasons for LIS.  That is pretty impressive.

I still enjoy watching the first season of Lost in Space, when they tried to be serious most of the time.  The campy seasons I'm very selective about which episodes to watch.  I went through different phases with Batman, when I was a little kid I thought it was great.  Then in middle school I didn't realize the campiness was intentional and thought it was awful (the thing that really annoyed me was that over and over the villains would not just simply kill them but had to design a convoluted death for them, thereby ensuring their escape).  After that I caught on and could laugh along with the camp.  My favorite moment is still the pay phone out in the middle of the woods.  Then there was when the ambassadors were re-hydrated in different bodies (the German and the Israeli were switched), you couldn't do that today!
