Hi, all:

I've been bounced from BF42 several times this week after playing for  about 5-10 minutes. Sometimes an error message, often just bumped. I have noticed a few of the times that the game really slows before the crash, almost slow-motion and the resolution seems a bit pixilated.

I went to another server and it happened.

I've never had this happen since I reinstalled the game a few years ago.

What might I be able to troubleshoot?

Hey Sir,

We will need a little more specifics please,

1) What is the error message?

2) What operating system are you using?

3) Is this slowness and or pixilating game specific (42) or different games, graphic programs etc.?

Helps the tech heads determine whether this is software, hardware, game setting or computer setting.

Also, I work with an IT person and one of the very first questions he asks is, have you downloaded or changed anything recently.

Everyone says know, only to find out its yes. I.E. Drivers

Hope this at least starts the ball rolling

Thanks, I have not knowingly downloaded any new software. I believe I have Windows 10.

It just crashed on me, I got this message: Microsoft Visual C, run time library. This is the only online game I play.

Sometimes it quits without a warning message, so not sure the one I mentioned above is relevant.

And, yeah, I generally get kicked to the desktop.

I'm only a geek wannabe, but my thoughts:

- any recent Windows updates? Those mess things up sometimes.

- could you be having any heat issues? Found out I have two fans out, I'll (hopefully) be getting those fixed this coming vaca week.

- have you rebooted your router and modem lately?

- Monk used to have squirrels snack on his lines, caused all kinds of mayhem...
