Actually a high speed drive with older disks can do this. I have an old 12x drive that I use for older things, just so this won't happen.

Drives are cheap, time for a new one. Do not put another disc in there...otherwise you're asking for it.
If you have an expansion pack disc it will load the original BF1942 game, but make sure you swap out to a new drive first!

ummm there isn't a legal NO-CD crack out there... whoever told you that is lying.fulcrum had a file that legally allowed you to play without putting in a disk
