Can someone please send me a link or directions to download the game. I'm on a PC and the process had dried my old shriveled brain.

Thx!

I honestly don't know much any more about downloads, but I think Amazon still sells the Anthology set for something like $13? Others will likely have more information on the rest. :)

Lin,

I think downloads are the way of the future for this and any older game. I built a new pc with win 10 back in november, and now my CnC game discs will no longer read. However, I can pay (again) to download some titles off of Origin that will not immediately work and take some configuring to play on win 10. I think 1942 will meet the same fate at some point for anyone buying the anthology. I'm with miller. If someone provides a link to simply download and play, sticky that puppy!

For windows 10 users. Direct play will be needed. If windows10 asks for direct play install it.

This is the only place where I found out about this download of the FULL GAME. Why isn't it linked on the main downloads page?

Full game downloads are linked offsite in one easy note.  Thankyou for your thought as to getting these links displayed in a more prominent way.

The 1942 link listed included Mac (OS) support.  This page does include ads, scroll to the bottom of the page to the large blue download buttons, which look like this.

Battlefield 1942 installers including the installers used for the expansion packs are similar in the fact they are all zipped packages delivering two priority files,  Setup.exe and Data.bin

  To Install

  •   Unzip entire contents of folder using winzip, 7z, or utility of choice.  ( Right click on the zipped file and choose 'extract all' )

  •   Launch the file titled setup.exe and follow the standard instructions.

  DO NOT

  •   Attempt to launch the setup.exe from within the winzip or 7z utility

  •   Move the setup file before launching.  ( Setup.exe is dependent on Data.Bin and needs to be left in the same folder )

Strange, I downloaded, extracted and installed the recommended stuff, Posi. But when I start the game it begins to start and then crashes out before it does. I'm running Windows 10 Home.

Ah, I found that I needed to enable "Direct Play" on my computer and restart.  Now the game starts.... but I get no results in the internet multiplayer server browser.  There's zero games.  Any suggestions?

I have the same problem with my win10 install. Games fires up but no servers show up in the browser.

Posi has a Google drive with the patches... You sound like you need the gamespy patch... Correct me if I'm wrong y'all :)

Nope, Rub is correct. You might need to disable your antivirus for a second to use that gamespy patch.
