Perhaps someone smarter than me can figure out what I'm doing wrong here.

I want to set my game to play with 255 bots in single player. I followed this guide...

I'm following this guide step by step but my game still resets to 64 players. Has anyone else done this? Am I missing something here?

Not many of us around here fiddle with coop at all.

 

Noting the behaviour of large groups of bots as very unflattering.  It seems like when you add more, more of them want to stand motionless in large groups doing nothing at all.   The Real AI Mod by D'namoro is worth a note.

I have tried this on multiple occasions for practice only to fail every time. If you ever get this to work please post how. I do it for the grandkids so they can play/practice.

Ok, i tried it and it works.

It took me 10-15minutes with the guide from moddb.

The only thing I can think of is my game would not update via the patch provided. Did yours do the update?

Which patch do you mean?

If you mean the game.exe you have downloaded you can rename it and copy it in the game-folder.

 

You dont have to overwrite your original exe. So, you can start the game with the original exe if you want to play and the kids could starting it with the other exe.
