This is and has been a useful post. I have two shortcuts using command lines to moongamers servers. Any chance of a idiot proof rewrite though?? (our ips changed I believe) Took me ages to get them to work and only after a Admin sent me his command line!!!

Edit:Not sure what you did Birney but IPs and ports are the same. Sometimes Program Files has (x86). Make sure the game path is the same as it was.

Btw, does anyone know where the Desert Combat.exe is found? I've been meaning to make a DC shortcut for a while now, but I can't find it. Using the BF1942.exe doesn't work either. It takes you back to the DC server list screen.
"C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Battlefield 1942\BF1942.exe" +game DC_Final +restart 1
or
"C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Battlefield 1942\BF1942.exe" +game DesertCombat
I will log into game and get IPs soon and add to main post.

Thinking of adding a little batch file tutorial to join Teamspeak 3, log in your room and start BF42 favorite server in 1 click.

BF1942 without intro --> main menu:
"C:\Program Files (x86)\EA GAMES\Battlefield 1942\BF1942.exe" +restart 1
CQ:
"C:\Program Files (x86)\EA GAMES\Battlefield 1942\BF1942.exe" +restart 1 +joinServer 64.34.180.19:14567"
DC:
"C:\Program Files (x86)\EA GAMES\Battlefield 1942\BF1942.exe" +game DC_Final +restart 1 +joinServer 64.34.183.27:14567"
TDM:
"C:\Program Files (x86)\EA GAMES\Battlefield 1942\BF1942.exe" +restart 1 +joinServer 64.34.179.229:14567"
and the "Start in" should read:
"C:\Program Files (x86)\EA GAMES\Battlefield 1942"

As a matter of fact I can't play at all.I put in the disc..#1 and nothing comes up.Wait a couple of minutes and still nothing. Then I try and start it up by clicking on icon, direct link to MG server and still nothing so I take the disc out and up pops the no disc message, please insert disc and still nothing!
I then went and deleted the short cuts I made so I can return to how it was set up before and nothing at all happens. Can't play at all now.No single player too.Any suggestions?

Does the game flash up and then disappear quickly or nothing at all? If you have any details it will help.
Also the best way to create this shortcut it to click start, go to program files, EA Games, Battlefield 1942 and right click 1942 and send to desktop (create shortcut). Then simply add the switches to that and leave all other files as they are including any shortcuts the game installer may have placed.

I've just gotten in through xfire -- into our DC server. However, you have to follow the server rotation -- you cannot esc out and get back to the menu, i hangs at that point for me.Some have reported they are able to join through xfire. Does anyone still have ASI and if yes, does that work?

No flash at all.I have deleted the 2 short cuts. Before I made the short cuts I would just put the disc in and the game would appear and I would click on play and all was good, now I can't do that at all, think of re-installing!
