I’m thinking of upgrading my RAM. I’m currently running about 8 gigs of standard desktop-from-Walmart RAM. What do y’all run? 16g? 8? Also. What type and if you’ve upgraded yours since starting in DayZ, did you notice a big boost in performance?
My current PC started out as a HP from Walmart. I’ve since upgraded it so much that the only things that are left are the stock sticks of RAM. Everything else is now custom.
Also, would it be possible to get a Day/Night cycle and random weather in the server? Not sure how it’d affect the performance of the current server setup.
Anyhow, see ya in Cherno.

16Gig of RAM is a comfortable level. But with ArmA 2 your CPU is more important since the game only utilizes 2047mb as that is the hard-coded maximum (anything higher falls back to 2047).
I would say the best performance increase would be installing a SSD drive.
Here is a link to Startup Parameters that can help increase performance. https://community.bi...rtup_Parameters
This is my current machine I build and has been running great for years.
Yes that is a skull on top of my CPU. It's acting as a CPU exhaust, Power light, webcam, and a SSD drive Bay.

Here is a more detailed album of my custom built beast. Pretty much built everything including custom wiring and sleaving.

This game runs better on Intel than AMD, I can tell you that. I have an 8 core AMD (8350, 4.01 GHz) with 16gb of RAM, and mine still shudders. Those running Intel are capable of running a better game.
