Awesome, definitely looking 2009.

Multi-quotes are a little hard to read because of the white background, but other than that so far so good (I'm sure someone's already aware of that though).

Forums seem quick and smooth now.

Keep in mind Logan and Silver have been working hard on the new board, don't confuse that with lag. I find the new board more efficient and quicker.

I love this new system, it takes some time and patience to get use to but I'm quickly finding out it has so much more to offer. I really like the Gallery area, preview images are big with the description clearly mentioned below each image.

Thanks again to all who made this happen.

@Dodgem: wth is a favicon?

I think it's short for Favourites Icon. The little icons on your Bookmark Toolbar in Firefox, illustrating the website. It used to be a little coloured MG icon, but now it's a V-shaped icon for IP Boards.

I keep getting "file failed to upload" when trying to upload my profile pic. I have tried different file types and sizes. Any suggestions?

Same here, Lin is aware of it. Just another hiccup to sort out, please be patient.

Thank you.

I find this new board extremely hard to focus on, and follow. I cant really tell whats stickied and whats not since there's no partition there, and there's way too many options to learn now lol.

I dunno yet,I mean its cool, just reallly different.

With the club skin, I have quickly adapted

Overall, I really really really like it. The new messenger rocks btw, it is going to save me from writing endless PM's about matches and stuff. Aside from the sepparation between sticky and regular topics, the only thing I find difficult is the unread post marker. I miss the bright orange of luminos.

I agree, those are the two things that keep me on Trenz-x. I believe we can change the animated graphics on Club to be solid on or solid off, so that can be solved. :)

Anyway we can make the three icons (Gender, Country, Game) horizontal instead of vertical like it was before? It would help make pages shorter.

agreed.

and also, what is with this reputation thing in the profile?

The change in custom profile display was apparently a change in the 3.0 board. I know there is nothing we can do to fix it, we'll have to see what we can find whenever something becomes available.

I have not researched the Reputation thing, but it appears to be driven by how others vote on your topics/posts, lower right hand corner of the post.

I'm a member of another message board where reputation is heavily used so I can shed a little light on its advantages and disadvantages. Basically what you do is give positive "rep" to someone if they make a good, smart, funny post. You could also give someone negative rep if they break board rules, take something to far and insult someone personally, or are just being a plain jerk in their post. Negative rep happens rarely whereas positive rep happens all the time. Often times, there are limits to how many times you can give reputation within 24 hours so you don't go rep happy, as well as limitations on repping a certain person so you can't rep your friend while he reps you up to the max.

Advantages:
-It allows people to see who are the most popular and "witty" posters on the board
-It gives people the chance to really commend someone for making a very good point in a serious thread.
-It gives Birney the chance to fish slap Bullet as often as he wishes :D

Disadvantages:
-It can create a little bit of a hierarchy within the board... but then, so does post count
-People can misuse the negative rep causing more work for forum admins

Basically it's a small thing that could add a little bit more fun to the board but also a little bit more work as well. It probably works best in a forum system with no clear hierarchy. But since we have Regs/Admins/Sr.Admins/Core etc... reputation probably won't mean as much as it would on other forums.

I think it's a small risk, small reward proposition.

Thanks for that informative post Stryper. +rep for you ;)

I also frequent another board which uses the rep system. It's pretty good, tho on there it's more used on informative posts, or posts about some technology which hasn't been released and is first seen on their forum, rather than funny posts.

P.S. It seems to be broken. When I click +, it says I have reached my quota for the day......?

Agreed, reputation wasn't really meant for forums of this kind (fun, crazy, lighthearted etc) but that doesn't mean it won't contribute something...

As for it being "broken" I believe the system is currently set to "0" for max number of rep points able to be given out in a 24 period. The Admins will have to adjust this counter in order to activate the feature.
