The 2nd one has a fast clock speed.
The 2nd one has a faster memory clock speed.
The 2nd one has no fan, and is quieter.

I would suggest the 2nd one, although they are both top of the line cards.

Another thing to consider, is your current power supply up to running that card?

If not, may want to get the cheaper of the two and put the $40 towards a power supply. That and other than the XFX being fanless, you should be able to easily overclcok the BFG (5 mhz on the core and 30 mhz on the memory) to the XFX speeds.

Extreme edition anything means a little better than regular.

If you can possibly wait the ATI R600 is supposed to be out in January, which should reduce the price of these cards. (Although they're pretty good prices already)

Nevermind, I saw 1950 instead of 7950.

I would get the EVGA version, and then you have the opportunity to "Step-Up" to a better card later using EVGA's step up program.

Of those two though, I would get the XFX

OK as long as they have something coming out within 90 days of your original purchase.

Only if he already has good airflow through his case to make up for the lack of fan on the card.

After reading the reviews, the XFX would require your case to be very cool already and then this would add onto it. I might suggest something else with a fan.

Or buy an Arctic Cooling fan. ;)

Get the BFG, if nothing else just for the warranty. Ever get tired of the video card? Run it over with your car and get your money back. -_-

That.. and you don't want the XFX card if it only has heatsinks and not active ventilation.

Yeh. With modern cards, you really need to have a good heatsking fan, or else a liquid system. Simply heatsinks just won't cut it these days... that is, unless you have an AC hooked onto your comp. :D

Right now I pretty much live in a dust free place so I have removed the side off of my computer and now it all the cool air it needs. I think the I will go with the BFG. I will end buying another card in about six months anyway so then I'll gett one of the new NVIDIAs when that time comes. Thanks to everyone for your feedback.

It hurts so much to read about everyone's graphics card. I have an ATi Radeon xpress 200. <_<

both cards have same GPU, as it is XFX is givin warranty for higher clock and that makes it better. both cards have double lifetime warranty, and with XFX you get better performance which is the only thing we should be concerned of as consumers.

EDIT: after checking difference in price, i dont think that very very little extra performance is worth $50

if you choose to change the heatsink and overclock it, than just go with the cheaper one, as the extra $ is goin on stuff u wont use, the GPU is the same on both cards

Before you drop kind of cash. Ask you self is card direct x 10 or vista compatible? Some cards says the vista comp but will only direct x version 9.0 Also gtx version of card are even better, How much do you want to Spend?$$$$ :whippingsmiley: I wish santa will bring a new video and computer to run it. lol. Power supply is a real issue. Read the label. Most vidoecards have minum 450 watts or greater requirred.. Are you going to run more then one video card then go with of minim of 750 watts power supply.
