My g/f's laptop has a moving "white spot" on the screen. The white spot varies in size and shape - earlier today the white spot was 1x6 and now it's about 1x2. Also, the spot moves. *I think* if the laptop is in a bag on it's side the white spot goes to that side. The spot also isn't totally white, sometimes it's a little mixed with pink and yellow.
I tried googling this to no avail. I'm looking to call tech support here soon on it, but would like to know if there is a technical term for this so tech support doesn't think i'm an idiot.
Thoughts? And would this make sense if I tried to explain to the warranty company?

Try taking a screen shot to see if it shows up.

Sounds like "static" n the display itself. LCDs can have strange things happen when they have interference. Does it have this spot at the location you are in or does it happen regardless of location?
