Is it a control on the keyboard? On the speakers? From the volume control on the taskbar of Windows?

j/k, first thing I would recommend is turning off your MagicJack and then checking your sound again.

My volume control does 3/4 up and 1/4 down. But not all the way up. Not all the way down. Found out from someone here what the answer is:

If you have Magic Jack, that is the culprit. Go to your MagicJack console. Click MENU on the upper right hand corner of the window. Pick Volume Headset Control. Choose device "Telephone". On the bottom, drag the speaker button all the way to the left.Close the window.

That should make it work now.

Hope that helps.

WOOT I WAS RIGHT woohoo!!!!

changed a setting in the magicjack to phone instead of headset and it fixed the problem. it also stopped ringing on the PC speakers when a call comes in.
