Anyone else having issues with 42?  I had an update this morning and now I can't get 42 to run.  Just wondered before I roll back...

I was just wondering if it was just my system or if anyone else is having a problem...

I have WIN7 Home premium.  It is not the kb/3086255 update although, It had been reinstalled again.  I also am using the CD version of BF1942.

I reinstalled the patch and it just lock my system up every time I try to run it.  Screen goes black like it's going to start and then nothing.  I sometimes have a hard time getting end task to work.  I am now going through all the updates this month and removing them one by one (about 25).  I restart and try BF.   So far no luck.  Got about 7 more to do.  I have also uninstalled, deleted, and defraged BF1942 then, reinstalled it and it is doing exactly the same thing.  Really weird!  Also, I have recently installed McAfee from my ISP.  That will be the last thing I try to remove and test.  Already been through the firewall and disabled it...No change.

Just check something, did you try and install windows 10? My son computer need to have administrator applied again and then the patch.  Good luck.

Have you tried uninstalling graphic drivers and reinstalling? Also like squirrel said, make sure you install the patches. Do you get the EA and Dice splash and the intro video?

Okay. I ran a program that BOVA reminded me of called CCleaner.  Ran that, now I have removed Anti virus and all that.  Removed all windows updates and now I am going to reinstall BF42 again.  Could you give me a list of links to install for or server...

1. Install BF1942
2. Go to Posi's Google Drive https://drive.google...EFwZGZKMlk#list
3. Download the "battlefield1942 all in one patch up pack"
4. Unzip it
5. Install the files in the order it says:  1.61 patch, then 1.61b incremental patch, then Gamespy patch

 

Have a look at the ReadMe file.  Posi might have added some other useful information in there too

Okay... After running the reg cleaner, and reinstalling BF42 it now is working!!!!      

 

 

 

 

All patches in and off we go!!!
