Trying to find alternative to 1942. Lag issues and upcoming gamespy issues warrant a change. Whats everybody playing?

I just bought COD4... Enjoyed the singleplayer story line. But I'm luke warm on the Multi... Usually whoever fires the first shot wins, like the old west... I like game where you have at least a chance to recover if your quick...

I have BF2 loaded... used to like it a lot but for whatever reason it didn't grow on me like 1942 did after several years of not playing.

2142... haven't loaded it up again yet... I enjoyed it but not like 1942 and BF2...

How is BF3 and 4 ... I heard some not so good things about 4 but nothing firm.

A lot of people are playing the DayZ mod for Arma2.

You can check out heroes and generals. Might not be as much your style but it is a ww2 game and it has the ability to outplay someone that is shooting at you.

BF3 over BF4 as I'm told. BF4 looks good, but, there are still some issues with the game. But, BF3, is on the way out. I never got into 2142. For me right now, I am playing Startrek online for my non shooting entertainment, Civ5 for strategy, and the Dayz mod for Arma II.
