Is self damage from expacks equal as the self damage from nades?

Seems to me expack exploders   get away with not injuring or killing themselves more than if  a player drops a grenade nearby himself.  Is it equal?

In real war, an expack exploding nearby the detonator would have more self injuring potential than a grenade dropped nearby  a nader.

Maybe it evens out gameplay wise because a nade can be tossed far,  an expack can't.

Anyone see that player last week on Kharkov map?   Nazi engineer got in the corner of our Allied home base large barn only spawn area and hid near the health locker getting more expacks from the outside ammo box thru the wall.  He kept tossing out expacks  at everyone spawning there, then regenerating health. He got 8 or 10 kills real fast.  I'd say that qualifies using expacks as a primary weapon.   Don't recall the day and time or his nick, not a regular I'd seen before.  You can't do that with nades.  He had time to take a few steps and place more expacks and run back to the corner health locker.

If I were an admin....Instant ban!  He was being overtly exploitative, like he did that kinda stuff all the time and was good at it.

No doubt he'd scream and complain that he was banned.

I do not know if this post is a genuine post or you simply airing a opinion/grievance. Be that as it may we apologize for the lack of response on this. be it from a admin or indeed Snr. Our admins would not have 'instantly banned' for this, all though we understand your frustration at it. But throwing expac after expac after expac after expac is considered spamming, and would have, should have led to admin intervention, had a admin been on at that time and been made aware of this problem. We are trying, things will improve, bear with us.

Thanks for replying ( I thought noone would) , but I was asking how the self inflicted damage from ones own expack explosion compares to the self inflicted damage from ones own grenade explosion.

Maybe an expacker gets less self inflicted damage exploding his expack because... one can toss a grenade a far distance, but an expacker can't toss his expacks very far?

Sort of a trade off thing, maybe.

My question was more of a DICE game design thing. Maybe the game was designed that way, not sure.

I've noticed expackers "seem" to get less self inflcted damage setting one off nearby themselves, than the self inflicted damage exploding a nade nearby themselves.  Made me wonder.

I believe we're looking into some of these settings in order to keep the naders and expackers from getting out alive. :)

That weapons are responsible for millions of bytes in forum come and go about it use.

A well use for a nade, when attacking a bunker, 1 or 2 in and after the tommy to end job, a bad use are, spamming from ammo box, throw 3 go to reload and direct again 3 nades and so on w/o use gun.

Expacks are controversial, as some see them as just a trap, in a way they are, that weapon is to be fire from a hidden far position. In the game is like a take that man and boom ! And it harm more than a nade in mi opinion.

To audit use of this weapons for an admin is not easy, as there is a thin line, sometimes is obvious and gamers start to claim about it.

A spammer is a spammer not mater what it spams.

Sorry Ren, that I agree with you. I am sure it doesn't help your cause.

An expack can blow up a tank right? So if someone throws an expack on you and blows it up right away...you'd think everyone dies. Not just the guy with an enemy expack in his pocket.

I think it would be a good thing for the game to mod the expack to kill the expacker if he or she is too close. It would make the spammersr/abusers think twice. And it's not as if it's unfair- the other weapons work the same way. If I am too close to the tank I zooked...I die. expacks should work the same way.

They do, actually.  All engineers who set an expack or mine next to a tank (if in the immediate vicinity) do not survive.

However, it's a different story when using expacks on soldiers.

Then...those engineers doing that  DO survive.  I was pointing out that such is not the case when dropping a grenade at your feet to kill a soldier nearby, compared to an expack placed nearby an enemy soldier.  Those engineers DO survive just fine. When doing the same with a grenade...it's another story.  Ah well.

Yes...I realized after I wrote that it was poorly written. Using a nade at your own feet is a better analogy. Nade made for blowing arms and legs off....or the expack made for blowing up tanks? SHould have at leats the same self damage. I think it would make most....sneaky....engies more cautious about how close they use that pack on soldiers.
