Hey,
I've been playing a little Battlefield the last couple of days. Just dabbling and not sure how long it will last. Anyway, I'm getting very regular and consistent connection problems in game (as in I get the 'Connection Problems' popup). It freezes my game for about 6-10 seconds every time it happens, but it always sorts itself out after that and I never disconnect nor get kicked. This occurs about once every 7-15 minutes. Obviously it's very disrupting and quite frustrating.
I had also noticed this dropping of connection whilst torrenting and I am almost certain it has come about since getting a free upgrade with my ISP. They bumped my connection speed to 'up to 60Mb/s'. With that upgrade I also got a new modem/router all-in-one....which I suspect is the real culprit here. This loss of connection never occured with my old Linksys router.
Any suggestions as to how to fix this?
The new modem/router all-in-one is a Netgear Virgin Media Super Hub 2 (Click)
Many thanks!
New Router/Internet Speed

Are there any entries in the Log-file of the router? Maybe something about disconnects between WAN and Lan, or Lan and clients?

Thanks for the reply, DerRaucher.
I had a look using the computer that the router is connected to. This is all I found:
The timings, however, don't seem to match my gaming (I played yesterday [the 12th October] in the evening and later that night). I experienced connection problems but they don't seem to be listed in this log file. Am I looking at the right thing here?

We could go into details and test some things.
But do you have a second unused router? If yes you could set your current router as "modem only" and connect your second on the first one.
You must use the the Lan1 Port of the first router with the WAN Port of the second.

Ah crap. I think we gave our old one to charity. And when I say "we", I mean other people in my family who don't recognise the usefulness of a back-up router in case things go wrong.
I take it the router is probably the culprit in your opinion, rather than the upgrade to fibre optic 60Mb/s broadband?
But yes, it would be great if you could guide me through some tests, please.

Im realy busy this week. Some ideas i have: is the packetloss maybe to high with your new speed or is the new port broken?
Is it possible to turn off the firewall of the router?
