Hello guys!
I've came back to bf1942 after a long time (1 and half year),
My hardware is now way much better than before which i used to play the game.
But now i'm facing sudden FPS drops from 100 to 25,
while there were no frame drops on my previous machine which was a pentium 4 and with just 128 mb of gpu.

I'm using windows 8.1 on dell inspiron 5547 laptop

here are specs:
CPU: i5-4210U (1.7GH ~2.4 GH)

RAM: 8 GB

GPU: R7 M265

Here was my fix. I had a power management issue with windows 7 64 pro. Go to power plan saving and turn everything to high preformance. I have everything you do except a 660 gtx video card

I had the same problem with CD version of the game. I have to play the free Origin version which runs just great. Though I cant figure out how to get the expansions to run it.

My current build is:

Core i-5 4670K @ 3.4 GHz

16 Gigs of RAM

Radeon R9 270X

Win7 Pro 64 Bit.

Locate the website mentioned somewhere earlier to download the 2 Xpaks. They are more up to date than the CD's.. I forget that URL at the moment. To extract those paks (or put them there where they need to go)  The path is:

C:/Program Files x86/Origin Games/Battlefield 1942/Mods.  The "Mods" folder is where the xPaks 1 and 2 go. If having run the game  before, off a CD install, be sure to update your desktop icon of BF1942 (delete it) and make a new icon from the Origin directory with the Battlefield1942  main execution file as the "Target file" of the new desktop icon/ shortcut. The ex-paks should start right up on Sundays afternoons.
