For those who may be reinstalling an older version of BF, here are the current patches you need to get your game going. The first patch takes your game to version 1.61, the second patch takes it to 1.61b. You need to install both, in the order given, in order for your game to work.

If you have recently purchased the game, you may not need both patches. Install your game first, go into it, and look in the lower left hand corner. If it's already v1.61, you might only need the small 1.61b patch.

Here we go. Install your game first, then (if reinstalling old version) download and install these patches in the order given.
First BF patch: 268mb
Battlefield 1942 1.61 patch

Second BF patch: 6.41mb
Battlefield 1942 1.61b patch


After you have patched your game, you may need to update PunkBuster in order to keep from being kicked. Go to Punkbuster at: http://www.evenbalan...age=pbsetup.php
Choose the appropriate operating system and follow the simple instructions.



MODS:
Desert Combat users: see the Desert Combat forum for current links to DC Final. However, you need for Battlefield 1942 to be patched to current before installing DC or any other mod. Click here...

OKay, i now have punkbuster and all those options, i turned the needed ones on, but no servers are showing up in the Server List area. WHat did i do wrong?

Hit "Update" in the screen. Also no servers will show up if your internet connection is messed up...

I just downloaded and installed both of them, but its telling me I still need to update? I had them on my other computer now can't get them on this one.

Damn this patch. I downloaded about 50% of it and it decided to "Time Out". I have to re-download it now. Lucky me.
