Some know me, some don't.
I've played for a long time, and in various communities.
Point is, I have played in moongamers on and off over the years.

If you asked around (back in the day), some would describe MG as:

"Moonlamers", "Noobgamers", following up with stating that MG was a place for noobs. A place to come do whatever you want, no rules, no specifics... A place where you could pretty much get away with anything.. Heck I remember some old farts sat in there spitting out racial slur half the night, and others cursing like hell.
Dity language, dirty play, dirty players.

Ofcourse all of this is now changed, and I am glad to see it happen. But is now TOO much ?

*Not a direct complaint - more of a statement and topic for debate.

I get a warning from console "GHOST" admin, who didn't want to indentify himself / herself. I call another player a coward, and get a warning.
A COWARD.. Not a doucebag, fucktard, slipnob, canface, or mother F... No, I use the word COWARD. I could have said PUSSY, but with your new word filter.. I doubt it would be allowed. Ladies and gentlemen, where are we if we can't call out someone for what they are? Spit a few spicy letters against eachother now and then, spice up the action.

I understand rules, I understand MG has changed and believes in proper attitude and behavior. But for goodness sakes, there is also freedom of speech! The need to express yourself, and necessity of just not giving a fuck. ;)

Cmon folks, loosen up! Your not running a boarding school or millitary institution. It's a gaming community..

Thanks for reading ;)

I was the admin, I identified myself, but you had already left. I am working from home, the key word here is "working", and I'm not watching chat. I have better things to do with my time.

I looked over and saw this:

4/25/2013 17:21:55 : # [Global] opus: Sebavien
4/25/2013 17:21:58 : # [Global] opus: where are you from ?
4/25/2013 17:22:13 : # [Global] SEBAVIEN: japan
4/25/2013 17:22:16 : # [Global] opus: no really
4/25/2013 17:22:25 : # [Global] SEBAVIEN: y
4/25/2013 17:22:37 : # [Global] opus: cant be
4/25/2013 17:23:02 : # [Global] opus: japanese dont play like cowards
4/25/2013 17:23:14 : # [Global] opus: proud people
4/25/2013 17:23:29 : # [Global] Snickers: some of them play

These are modern times. Just because someone lives in Japan does not necessarily mean s/he is Japanese. People get around these days. You were taking the conversation away from gaming and into a place where it becomes hostile for someone. That is not ok. That is not playing the game. That is regressing to a sticks-and-stones attitude mostly used by the single digit age group, not someone who is supposed to be an adult. But, there is more whining, crying and bitching in this game than any other I have seen, so I suppose I should not be surprised. In any case, that is why I warned you not to disrespect others. It should be possible to just play the game without insults, they're not really necessary.

No, this is not a monastery. "Pussy" is not in the filter, unless it becomes overused. You did get kicked for "reputation", but that is because the coding of the filter does not allow for exact words, only wildcard words.

4/25/2013 17:27:40 : # [Global] opus: moongamers has a reputation of being a place for noobs

Really. Then take your piss-poor attitude with you and don't play here. There are not many people left in the world who play the game. Everyone has their own playing style. Just because it isn't an exact match for yours doesn't make them a "noob". There aren't any clans left to actually teach new players what to do, just chest-puffed fools who used to play competitively who think new players should just automagically know what to do, how to play as a team without VOIP, and how to play YOUR way instead of their own.

We like our standards just fine. We have changed many things over the years as games age, and new ones come out. Our Basic Standards won't be one of them.

I have been apart of MG from the beginning in one way or another, from player to Admin. I have to say that over all the years at MG and the evolution of MG and the games hosted here I have NEVER, EVER seen or heard anything like what you say here. You show you have been a member scene 2010 yet you only have 10 posts. That tells me that you are out of touch with this community and have never truly been apart of it.

MG has always had the highest of standards for game play and all forms of communication between players.

You sir, are full of shit and good day !!!

Never said I was part of this community, infact I said I was in and out over the years.
Lin knows me from some time back.
I use to go by other names aswell, but it dosen't matter. My point was, things changed. YOU may not have heard these things, but I did. I heard it quite alot when I was a member in CC (conclave.cc), perhaps they just didn't like the server competition. (who knows..).

Those things were most likely sprung from fustration, due to alot of crap going on in the servers. MG was busy, and it dosen't take long to get agitated over a few newbies.

I don't know you, don't really care if you think im full of shit.. lol
But had you said that in the server, you would have gotten a warning? no? ;)

I've spoken to Lin about this already, as it continued in PM's.

Opus, you look as someone that likes the game, we are so few now playing it that we better enjoy it while it last.

Chill and play, if you are caming back to the game an advice i can give you is to follow rules and if you get frustrated with other player just let it be in his game stile and focus on other that has a play stile you like or enjoy, make some friends and join when they are in and all will run smoothly.

I apreciate all gamers, all, cause I prefere a noob as you say and remember we all started as one, than a almost empty server. Think about it and you will realize that for the good of the game is better to play for fun. We all can loose temper some times, it still happens to me and also saw it happen to experienced gamers once in a while but most of us here agree that insult someone in game chat is not something to be tolerated but controled and restrict. I do not like at all when are some players in verbal fight is not nice.

Hope to see you in game, I play mostly on weekends and when i have some free time at night, If you like lo fly, we can have some dogfights or dizimate enemy team by bombing all of them.

I like your avatar, make me smile each time I see it :applaud:

I don't care what others said or say about us. We had some freaking awesome players back in the day, and they played here because they could play freely without constantly being recruited. Clans who wanted to recruit here got frustrated with that...too bad.

I still don't care what others say, but I won't tolerate it on the server. People can keep their derogatory opinions to themselves. We happen to like the house we've built, especially since it is still standing while so many others have fallen.

The reason you were warned, and I can see that you still don't even see this, is because when you disrespect someone in the server, especially when bringing a race card into the mix...you're not just at risk of disrespecting one person. You can piss off quite a few, and I have seen this happen too many times. Often, as in this case, I will warn to prevent bigger problems from occurring. You don't have to understand how or why we warn, kick or ban as you have never had admin training here. You just need to respect and comply with what we ask without turning into a tard about it in the server. The server is for playing, not for disagreeing with how we run it. Bring those here so you don't ruin everyone else's game.

Maybe some of our Core (!) Admins should calm down a bit... :weird:

That is rude.

I like opus. Let's start there.

When someone comes into my house with muddy boots and leaves muddy footprints all over my carpet, I get upset. Being a guest comes with a little responsibility; to be courteous while you are here and to follow the house rules. This is a very old game, and the only way it will continue to have any life is if people stop calling each other names and actually take a little bit of time to try to teach others how to play as a team, instead of just denigrating the player, and the server.

Another player who apparently missed the entire context of this thread said that we still have grudges against comp players. Just the opposite; I appreciate them now more than ever because they taught new players how to play the game, how to use packs, they taught players about the maps, and taught them how to team play. New players have nobody teaching them these things any more, there is really nothing in place to do what the clans used to do. That is very much missing from this 10yr old game. And, you will always have players who do not want to play for a team, they simply want to score at any cost and will ignore team objectives. They aren't noobs, they are simply playing the game the way they want to play it. We don't have to like it but we do have to respect it, because after all...we want to play the game our way as well.

I suppose we could let the server degrade into an insult-throwing, name-calling, chaotic mess of a server. But then we would have to change the name of the server to EA #100398702. We prefer to keep it MoonGamers and continue to try to keep the game fun for everyone. That means we will sometimes nip trouble in the bud instead of letting it start, and that may mean a warning to a player when they don't think they did anything wrong.
