I do not believe it is as bad as Trooper is saying, that server would have to be running on a P3 with 256 of ram to be that slow.
We need to do another test run, when a lot of people can put it through its paces.

Hi,just been at test server and is no good, died for lag 4 times, imagine conection problems if you are in plane and when conection came back u are 1 inch of building, land or tree.... bad! bad !!
And my ping whent from 170 to 300 or more !!!![]()
Please dont move to chicago server !!
A high ping is not the result of lag; rather, a high ping causes lag.
Therefore make sure you test your local services, to enure you are clear of problems.
Three things affect the overall ping- 1. Network protocol engineering, 2. Internet connection speed, the quality of a user's Internet service provider and ofcourse the configuration of your firewalls. Check with your provider, and see if your getting the correct amount of bandwith.
You can ask your ISP to test it for you, and locate the specific server causing too much latency. Then you can be re-routed, and hopefully that can improve your ping. Also be sure you have a decent upload speed! (allows faster updates of game data = lower latency = Smoother gameplay.)
- Just trying to help you Trooper.
@Lin
If the server is still up, I'll drop by today and test it out.

Opus,
Thank you ! but issue when was at Chicago server was not due my internet provider, I did tested their service and was correct as usual, same parameters as always before.
I know ping does not mean lag, Ive played in servers with 300+ ping and never suffered a freeze or a "conection problems" issue. But at that server it happened 4 times in less than 15 minutes, was unplayable.
I mentioned worst ping as almost got double in there and it afect a lot the game and make almost impossible to play as an infantary and even on a plane, delay the bombing/shooting and cause me to miss targets a lot when with 170 ping that does not happens.
So if you ask me, please dont move to chicago server.

That fact is that the new server was running smoother than the normal one and with less ping for me. Whilst ingame at the same time many other players remarked the same and said it was great and better than the normal server including an admin.
So therefore Trooper the problem must lie at your end with your ISP - the internet plan youre on,the routing they use etc.

Opus, the ping has nothing to do with the internet speed you have . I had a ping of 110 10years ago with dsl 1mbit and i have a ping of 110 today with 100mbit down and 5mbit up.

Trooper, please try going into the server again. There is only one way to know if the first time was a one-off...that's to go back and try it again. There was an internet attack occurring the night we had the test...it affected everyone. You need to go back and check it out.
