Hi,

Please review the map rotation, is awfull, really we need a maps voting for a new rotation, and for sure many of the actual maps won´t have a vote.

The russia maps and the pacific ones are terrible if player after each other, at least place in midle, bocage, market and why never ever play B Britain, looks that actual rotation is for who like to play as infantary.

The current rotation is a rotation that I would classify as something as far away from an infantry rotation. Yes, I agree that there are some maps in there that I do not care for, or that I feel should not be played at a specific time. But as an Admin I have the ability to move the server to any map I so chose. A good admin will see what the players want. Now I know not all of the people reading this have the same luxury as admins. But the next best way to get a map played that you want is to ask the admin in game to take the server off rotation, skip to a later part in the rotation, or do something completely random. The best way to get this done is to get in Teamspeak and ask the admin there for a map request. We really don't care what map we play next. We want to make the players happy. That is what Moongamers does.

The rotation gets set once a week, sometimes more. Who ever sets it tries to mix it up as best as they can. Sometimes it works out well, other times it doesn't. It happens. But lets be honest, are there ever rotations that you always agree with? I know I don't have rotations that I fully agree with, and I have set them before...

Next time someone brings up an issue, don't just state that you are upset with something, and leave it at that. Try giving a detailed fix with explanations as to how not only how you feel, but also how others will feel. It helps us make changes when when we have more than one opinion. If we only get one, a well explained one always works best.

This has always been an "issue", problem, for many years in many different communities. I remember in CC, aswell in TLB we researched the idea of a script. A script that would be timed to change settings, OR map rotation at a certain time. Meaning everyday at Midnight, the server rotation would change to a different setup. We tried various things, and never really got it working. Then ended up doing it manually..

That COULD work here too. Admins in between could set this up, so whoever is on late (say just before midnight)- Would switch the rotation to a different setup for the night / morning players. I know it would be exstra work, but it could enure a more flexible and interesting rotation in general.

For now, contacting an admin as Rapid Fire said, is probably the best way forward.

Just my 2 cents. :)

Trooper, what rotation would you suggest to try and make everyone happy AND keep the sever as full as possible?

I have noticed people seem to either like variety or they have a select map or few maps that they want to play exclusively. Since it really isn't possible to play the same few maps over and over then maybe a huge variety would work. Now, I am more of a weekend warrior since I work and go to school during the week I do not see a whole lot of what goes on here over time. So, this may be something that is already being done or isn't possible, but what about just taking the whole list of all the maps in the game and set them to be the rotation? That way every map gets played and the time the map is played would continue to change as some rounds may run close to an hour long while others may finish in 10 minutes.

If you ask me I would set

Bulge
Bocage
Tobruk
Stalingrad
Market Garden.
Battle Britain
Berlin
Iwo Jima
Kursk
Guadalcanal
Coral Sea
Homaha
Battle Axe

Wich will be a nice mix between Tank, Air and infantary maps. Remove Invasion of the Philipines and Midway, if you ask only few like them.

About asking and admin, Ive tried and some admins do hear but others will just say, we are playing the rotation. I will try to ask again and I understand that rotations can´t make all happy.

Last night was Karkov, Kurk, midway, homaha and stalingrad, came on... who can like that....

Thank you for the atention to this matter, I am not upset is just can´t enjoy actual rotation, say will need to wait untill is changed, next week.

great choice, maybe aberdeen and caen would fit in well.

in my opinion there are a few weak mods.

- omaha without nade/expack limitation and with the leave-the-beach-rule as an act of grace
- stalingrad has a nade problem as well plus the square idea taking the fight outside the houses
- caen becomes stressful with the bleed and the planes are at least a question of taste
- so is aberdeen with jeeps and fix mains.

don´t get me wrong but there´s no reason to stick with half-baked stuff permanently. mod it smart or leave it vanilla if you run it night after night.

it´s off the topic a bit but a pleasant rotation needs a good setup of pleasant maps. my two cents.

and please remove the timer at primetime. it´s needless. where´s the thrill in winning or losing by time? reducing tickets from 1000+ to 800 or 700 could be a neat move to avoid wearisome lengths.

Yes the timer issue annoys me many of times, a tremendous battle is going on, so intense that the time is not even looked at, and then someone sees it and says GG, and a minute later all the fun is shot down, with no real victor.

Usually this happens with the tickets 200-150 for one side, close game.

On maps issue, I personally like all the maps, and have enjoyed the larger rotation, the phillipines and midway should always play a role, just because some people are lazy should not keep all of us from these classics.

Those maps offer an experience that others cannot, and I miss the ones that are not played, GREATLY.

Some are so fickle, and not open to all types of fun, that this game was BUILT ON. :wtf:

The timer can be a pain but we have to have it to prevent a 3 hour map. Which will empty the server :(

Lowering the tickets can do the same thing, though. We don't usually include the larger maps in rotation because they can really kill the server overnight. We don't have the admins that we used to, either. We used to rely on admins to change to the non-rotation maps when there is population...but the number of good, active admins can now be counted on one hand. Players want to have admins around but nobody wants to be one any more. And, the player has to have the right temperament to be an admin. It's just a Catch-22 these days, and without having enough admins for the server...we all lose.

I have noticed many admins going away. I used to see Der Raucher almost every time I was in as well as RangerT and many others that really taught me a lot about rules and strategy. I don't know if these admins are still around, but I do notice a lack of admins lately. That's really unfortunate because a good admin could keep the server full and a 64 player server that was full offered things many others could not. I remember having trouble getting into the server because it was so full and those 64 player rounds were really fun.
