Step 1. Downloading the FTP application You need a FTP client or "app", the most popular are the free clients at www.Ipswitch.com. If you are a student just fill out the correct info where it asks for it and download "WS_FTP LE". If you are not a student or don’t want to be one : ) download the 30-day trial version of "WS_FTP PRO".
Step 2. Starting the FTP application Once you have one of these downloaded on your computer, it should have downloaded in your program files, double click on it to start. When you open WS_FTP LE, you're taken directly to the Session Properties Window. This is where you select which FTP site you'd like to connect to.
Step 3. Enter the connection information. Profile: enter whatever you want in this one, doesn’t matter Hostname/Address: ftp.moongamers.com User ID: Enter the user ID you are given from an admin at MoonGamers Password: Enter the password you are given from an admin at MoonGamers Account: Doesn’t matter what you put in this box Comment: "I totally appreciate LeadPoison for doing this guide for me" J/K, doesn’t matter input. Now, Click the "OK" box and hopefully you just connected!
Step 4. Uploading files The first step to uploading a file to the FTP is to first find the file in your computer. You do that by selecting the correct file directory in the "local system" box. The second step, once you find the file, click and drag the file over to the "remote system" box. If you did that properly, you should see a small pop-up transfer status screen. Once that finishes, the upload is complete! Feel free to make a folder in the "remote system" if you upload more than one file, we all like neat and tidiness at our FTP site right??????
Step 5.. Downloading files Just about the same thing as uploading, just switching the "local system" box with the "remote system" box. So, the first step to downloading a file is to select which file directory you would like the file to go into. Remember if you are downloading maps; Make sure you use the "C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Battlefield 1942\Mods\bf1942\Archives\bf1942\levels" file directory in the "local system" box. Next step, Find the file you would like to download in the "remote system" box and click and drag the file into the "local system" box, if you did it correctly you should see a pop-up file transfer status window. Once that finishes, your download is complete!
