First you must be in the game to take your screenshot, of course. When you have the shot you want lined up, find and press your Print Screen (PrtScrn) key on your keyboard. This is normally located to the right of your function keys (F keys) on the top of the keyboard. Pressing this key will take the Screenshot and place it into your Screenshots folder. This folder is normally located in the following path:

Battlefield 1942

\Program Files\EA games\Battlefield 1942\Screenshots
The screenshots will be named ScreenShot01.tga, ScreenShot02.tga, etc. Many programs will not recognize the .tga format for pictures, so you may need to locate one that can not only view .tga, but also be able to convert it to .jpg, which is a much more universally recognized picture format.

Battlefield 2

\My Documents\Battlefield 2\Screenshots
Screenshots for Battlefield 2 are saved as both .png files and .jpg files.

Here is a list of some apps (applications, computer programs) that will allow you to view and convert your screenshot files (.tga) to .jpg for viewing on our web site. Please let us know if you use an app that is not listed here, and we will add it to this page.

Adobe PhotoShop
Adobe PhotoDeluxe
MS PhotoDraw
MS Image Composer
Gimp
- A free image manipulation software

Open the application, then open the .tga file (usually File > Open). To convert, some apps will allow you to do a Save As, and choose .jpg from the list of appropriate file types. Other apps may want you to export to a different format (look for Export or Send To). Save the new format, and you're done!
