well i had a logitech 3D pro (joystick) >>joystick #1<<
(idk if that helps or not)
and when i got back after the hurricane i went to use my joystick and it did now work, so i was like ok ill just reinstall it and everyting will just be fine and dandy. (but that never happens with my luck)
so on christmas i got another joystick. i just gave up on the other on.
well when i got it guess what...........

yea it does not work

here it he prob

when i went to reinstall the #1 joystick i would not let me it came up with a error. it says that windows is not compatiable with the gaming device (ill get a screen shot of it after i type this and ill edit this one)

so the #2 joystic >>joystick #2<<

did not work either it came up with the same message

so it lead me to think that my computer has a prob or whatever with logitech....

so my dad was going to get some computer person out to the house tomorow
(so i am trying to save some money for him)

later i bought a iriver (its like an ipod for windows) and i went to install the softwar and it came up with a similar error

so that does not work either

so i think it might be my windows xp or like widows or what not...

im almost 99.9% shure its not the joystick or the softwear b/c i know they work i downloaded it on a other computer .....

any ideas or suggestions on what it might be_____ bear with me on typos and what not im sorta in a hurry

ill see if i can get a screen shot of the error

<_< thank you all so much <_<

:wasnt-me: gee shoot me now and get it over with

Are they all USB? If so, the common factor here would be that. If you're plugging them all into the same port, try a different port. If you're using a front port, try a back port, etc.

Yeah the just sounds like a bad usb port. Try a different one.

Or maybe one of your USB port drivers went funky and needs a little refresh. You know Windows has a little problem keeping drivers fresh, right?

It might be something that got damaged, like a physical connected. Try USB ports that are not near the others.

8 USB ports? All native or do you have an add-in card? If so, you may need 2 sets of drivers: one for the motherboard USB ports and another for the other card.

lol all native2 in the fornt and 6 in the back

here is the error that comes up if this helps

!!>>error<<

this error comes up when it is detecting the joystick if that helps

umm well ill defrag and hope for the best but i know its not going to do anything but it is better than doing noting lol

umm i dont know im just stuck and not making any progress
all i agree with yall about the usb ports but like i cant find a problem with it like my mouse and keyboard , printer, etc.. all work ummm

thx again

WHAT!?

That is not an error! That is Microsoft telling you that Logitech didn't put some $$$ in MS's pocket to get a little logo and avoid warning on installation that scares poor little bad basses like you.

Just install the damn drivers already! Worst that can happen is that MS is right and you uninstall. That is my expert opinion, even though I am no expert.

He He He

Ok...so you got their little app to install?

If so, what happens when you launch the Logitech app?

If not...have you looked up your mobo manufacturer to see if you have updated USB drivers or a newer BIOS?

When you right click your computer, select properties, Hardware pane and Device Manager...are there any yellow exclamation points or other warning signs related to any devices?

I'm suprisingly good at flying with keyboard too, hehe, hop in a chopper with me and I'll "show" you. ^_^

Those "Hardware Validation" things mean nothing, it just means M$ wants you to use their products, or else the other company has to pay big bucks to get the "Certified for Windows XP" logo on the box. <_<

then click driver signing
and then change it to ignore
