X, if this actually happens and you are still in need of a quality USA server on the EC, I will have you covered.

Moon has a server that we could use on the East Coast. It is called the mod server?

Set the time and date(tip give people plenty of notice and keep reminding them) and you can use the mod server) Most of us euros have got used to our pings so I dont think that will be an issue. If the first one is 'successful' you should do it twice a year?

What I find somewhat ironic is that the MoonGamers server is ALREADY set up between the Euros and those of us in the US from the West coast. There is no way on earth I would be able to play on a Euro server for a serious match...I used to play on BUGS when it first opened, as I was an admin and a Core there as well, but the 220-230 ping pretty much made it impossible to seriously play. I usually just adminned.

My ping on MoonGamers is normally 100-120. That is easily the same as most EU ping on Moon, and quite frankly we have many from Europe who ping better than myself.

I'm pretty sure Moon can provide a server, it's just a matter of which one.

Hey, I played from Japan with a 220 ping for close to 3 years :P

i have asked about some of this before, but haven't gotten a clear answer, so here i go again :

Question 1 :

you core guys have now said that we can use the mod server ... is that correctly understood ?

Question 2 :

will the map (market garden or wake) there be a stock, modded or TDM’s map ? (I would prefer the map from TDM server)

Question 3 :

will you be willing / able to transfer TDM's settings to that server (275% tickets, 5 second spawn time, etc) ?

Question 4 :

do i have your permission to post this link :

http://www.moongamer...showtopic=55493

in various bf1942 clan and bf1942 server forums for recruiting players to the macth ?

1) We will sort you out a server if its not the mod one. Either way we will provide it. I will get with Terry and find out How he wants to do it.

2) I am sure Terry will be able to get the tdm market garden map onto whatever server its going to be on.

3) Yes.

4) Go for it.

4a) Please ask the moderators of other forums for permission to post first.

4b) Please dont represent us' As in "I am from Moongamers" as opposed to "I play on moongamers and they have agreed to" We dont particularly want a compliant that says "why is your guy spamming the crap out of our forums"

What about playing on maps we don't play all the time. Why not a map like Hurtgen Forest?

i think a custom map might deter some people from participating in this event, because things will get too complicated - map downloads, etc.

the primary goal of this match - as i see it, is to gather a lot of people, 40 at least ... if we play with less people, it will resemble a clan match or regular scrimmage too much ...

only 11 people have signed up yet .... it looks like gathering 40 will be very hard...

me and greg are actively working on recruiting more people .... if any of you think you can get people to join this .... please do ...

So what about the time difference of about 5-8 hours from usa and europe ?

Now it's 10.27 pm in germany and u.s. east coast 4.27 pm.
Many of you still working right now.
For me it's almost time to sleep. ;)

X=X=X, a word of advice:

Coming from someone who has organized matches in the past, send constant reminders to everyone about this. You may have upwards of 20-25 players signed up, but if they don't remember, they won't show up. From experience, it is a gigantic disappointment if after tons of hard work organizing your player turnout is far less than expected due to no-shows. Expect about 3/4 of the signed up players to actually make it, and if all show, well, it's a win-win situation.
