Whats is this ?
An attempt to have a big scale clan-like competition match open for all, to see “Team World” and “Team USA” clash against each other. I am trying to gather a minimum of 40 players (20 per team) from USA, and the rest of the world, to compete against each other as “Team World” and “Team USA” in a big BF1942 match, and maybe later a series of matches, both on US and European servers. Only one match is planned for now, but if we gather enough people and it becomes a success, we might arrange more matches. If you sign up, it is only for one match, you are not forced to participate in the following matches.
When is that first match ?
Sunday August 14th 2011 - 3 PM Eastern Time./ 21.00 Central European Time
Duration :
Probably 2 – 3 hours, 30 minutes of warm up and waiting for people to join, then 2 rounds of Market Garden or Wake Island
Who can join ?
Everybody can join, just sign up … noobs are welcome, so are pros, clan people, snipers, zookers, tankers, pilots, ship-captains, expackers, infantry aces, artillerists, aagunners, defensive players, mad chargers, etc. ... don't worry about your skills, the primary goal of the match will be to gather 40 or more players (hopefully 60+)
How to Join :
Very simple, sign up on this page / thread … server password and server address will be given to you , or posted in this thread around August 13th.
Server :
Not decisively chosen yet, but probably Moongamers BF1942 mod server – located in USA, East Coast, Washington DC. ( the map will be from the TDM server )
Ping advantages ?
Yes, “Team USA” will have a HUGE advantage in that first match, with an estimated average ping of about 50, whereas “Team World” probably will have an average ping of about 120+. This is why we plan to host a re-match on a European server every second match, if this becomes a success.
Competition format :
Two rounds on the map, each team plays one round as axis and one round as allies. Final ticket count from round 1 and 2 are added, and highest ticket count wins the match.
Map :
Market Garden CQ, or Wake CQ, not decided yet ( the map will be set up as on the TDM server )
Teams :
One team of players from the USA, one team from the rest of the world (including Canada). At least 20 people per team. Tags like [USA] and [World] will be mandatory, followed by a name of your own choice.
Rules :
Exactly the same as on TDM, same vehicles, baserape, basecamp allowed …. In other words … total war ( as usual )
Admins :
Will probaly be present, playing admins, and / or just admins.
